Palace Masquerade Ball!!!

The smile on Sir Daniel's face disappeared, and he paled. There was a smirk on the Silver Rogue's face. Mithros, he's going to get serious... He's actually accepting my challenge! I'm thrilled and... scared at the same time... Eh... Well! Show me what you got, Silver Rogue. Glancing at Lady Tia, he found that she was staring at him with questioning eyes. Sir Daniel wondered why, and then realized he was grinning like a fool.

Lady Tia was standing between Sir Daniel and the Silver Rogue. The smile on her face was straining. What is this tension I'm sensing? She looked first at Sir Daniel, then the Silver Rogue. They seemed to be staring each other down... But the question is, why?

The tension between the two young men did not lessen. The only time it went away was when she talked to them. Saying that she needed some fresh air, she slipped away into an empty courtyard. Sitting down at a stone bench, she let out a sigh of relief. Great Mother Goddess, what's going on with those two???

Sir Ryan stepped outside and sat next to Lady Tia. "My god, whats going in there? Those two looked like they were ready to kill. Oh surprised to see me? I'm not wearing my usual cloak and sure as my clients that i wouldn't miss this ball for anything. Tell me, whats going on? This is fantastic" He had an amused look in his face.

As both Sir Ryan and Lady Tia were talking, a dark figure was hiding in the trees undetected.

Inside, the Lt. Commander Alexander was enjoying himself as he walked over to the buffet table. Grabbing some plates for his men.

Inu yawned and looked over, seeing someone she had not met before and blushing slightly. "Excuse me.. If you need more plates there are extra over here." Inu said quietly, looking up at the man.

"Ah thanks. I'm just going to bring some food for my men before we head out with Captain Le."

Lady Tia paled when she looked at Sir Ryan. "You could sense that too? Really... I wonder what's on the minds of those two... You look great by the way." She noticed the amused expression on Sir Ryan's face. "Are you making fun of me, or are you talking about the ball?"

Inu smiled, "Your welcome sir." she said quietly, smiling up to him.

"Oh the ball of course. It was just getting hot so i needed some fresh air. You look absolutely stunning tonight. Hmm....agh..." A blood puddle starts forming at Sir Ryan's side along with an arrow inside it. "Oh man....I..think I need...some...h..el..p..." Sir Ryan faints on the ground but is losing blood fast.

"Hmm?" Commander Alexander sensed something was wrong and saw Sir Ryan was down. He dropped the plates all of a sudden, pulled out his Force Lance, called his men, and ran to the courtyard.

In the courtyard as Sir Ryan lies bleeding, the dark figure jumped out of the tree it was hiding in. The figure had a black cloak with a hood over its' head. It drew out a black bladed katana from its' back and replies in a deep low voice:

"Sir Ryan, I've come to kill you."

Out of nowhere, Tara floats into the scene on her mist platform. "Hey, you! Didn't you get the memo? This is a neutral party for fun. I'll have to destroy you for sister."
Tia looks at her twin in astonishment. "Wow, you came after all!... But you aren't getting all the fun! Tag team anyone?"

Tia and Tara join hands and shout, "BLOOD LIGHTNING DRAGON!" Just like the name, a dragon made of lightning appeared, the color of blood. It struck the being, and it fell to the ground burned and dead.

As the attack struck the dark figure, it disintegrated into hundreds of pellets. Commander Alexander and his men came into the scene with Force Lances at the ready.

Lt.Cmdr. Alexander: "Hmm...what happened here?" Lt.Cmdr. Alexander saw Sir Ryan on the ground bleeding and yelled "Medic! You two establish a perimeter we don't want the guests to get involve."

Guardsmen: "Yes sir."

Lady Tia runs up and hugs her sister. "Yay, you're so awesome! You look am~azing!" Tara was wearing a deep purple dress that fit her perfectly, that had yellow lighting bolts going around the hem of her skirt in a pattern. Her mask was in the shape of a butterfly that matched her dress.

Tara struggled to get out of Tia's hug, but then sighed in defeat."Okay, okay, just get off will ya? People are watching..."

Tobe, wearing a white mask that covered half of his face, and a dak blue suit came running up just then. "Milady, what has happened he-!" He stopped talking, and paled. He saw Tara. "Wha... Isn't that... Isn't she like... Bad?"

Inu blinked and walked outside, watching the whole incident from the door and walking over to Lady Tia. "Whats going on?" she asked, looking around at all that was happening.

A Lancer Squad lead by Captain Le in full battle armor arrived in the courtyard. Lt.Cmdr. Alexander saluted the Captain and explained the situation.

Captain: "*scoffs* Assassins. Corporal gather those pellets, Petty Officer help the medic with Sir Ryan we're taking him to the Infirmary. Sgt. I want two teams. Team 1 will set up a perimeter around the courtyard until medevac arrives. Team 2 escort non-High Guard personnel out of the courtyard and back inside. Commander, you're with me."

He saw the entire event unfold and scoffed at the unprofessionalism of the assasins. Foolish humans. He finished off his food and left the room, leaping onto the rooftop. He sat down and conjured an instrument, a guitar. He strummed a few chords, hearing the howls of the wolves in the night.

Captain Le ignored Lady Tia and Lt.Cmdr. Alexander intervened.

"I'm sorry but you're going to have to return inside. This is High Guard business now."

Now Lady Tia was getting irritated. She turned to Lt.Cmdr. Alexander. "No I will not go inside. And who do you think I am that you can say that to me. Do you think that the palace can't deal with things like this by our own power? King Emrik III never gave you permission to let your troops onto palace grounds. I should know. Im sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to get off palace grounds if you don't tell your troops to leave."

Sir Namort appeared out of nowhere. He wore a black velvet tailcoat, and sleek black trousers. HIs long black hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and his black mask covered the upper half of his face.

"I agree with Lady Tia. The palace can take care of matters on their own. The King's Own and the Queen's Riders are more than capable of handling the situation. As palace high mage, and the top ranked mage throughout this land and the surrounding countries, I ask you to let the palace deal with this ourselves."

*still bleeding on the floor*
