Dragonlair Lane: Vervaine

Sir Daniel rode Thornrise down Dragonlair Lane. He had come here for a note was left underneath the door to his quarters from Lady Tia, telling him to meet her at Vervaine, the apothecary on Dragonlair Lane. So here he was.

Outside Vervaine, the short, slightly pudgy owner, Paul, was entertaining some children with a puppet show. People passing the shop looked at the proceedings with aprroval, and amusement. They laughed along with the children and everyone else. Hmmm... Today must be Children's Day at the apothecary.. But why in the name of Mithros would Lady Tia ask me to meet her here?..I guess I'll just have to find out...

After the puppet show, Lady Tia popped up behind the puppet booth. She worked her way through the crowd to Sir Daniel, holding a costume. "Hey, Dan! I thought you would never come!" Lady Tia held out the costume: a dragon costume. She held it out to Sir Daniel. "Here, put this on." She smiled innocently.

A trickle of sweat ran down the side of Sir Daniel's face. He gulped; he had a bad feeling about this. As Sir Daniel stared at the dragon costume in horror, Lady Tia's smile, was beginning to turn menacing. He took the costume without a word, in defeat.

Lady Tia kept a perfectly straight face as she looked at her childhood friend. She herself was dressed in mage's clothing. "Well... That certainly is interesting. Now, be a good dragon and follow me to the puppet theater. This is for the children's enjoyment."
