Sadness... T_T

Duchess Miracle had received news that her grandmother had passed away, leaving her with no living family. Her dad was an elf, and her mother a human. Both had been condemned for their bonding, and had to escape the country for fear that the elves would kill them. So their baby had been left with the mother of the mother. Not that Duchess Miracle would have had it any other way. She loved her grandmother dearly.

Her grandmother had been the person that taught her everything she knew about healing, and herb lore, for Mother Serenity had been a powerful mage. Mother Serenity was well known in Corpavale and the surrounding countries as a mage with extreme talents for healing.

Duchess Miracle sat in the Temple, praying to the Death God to give her grandmother safe passing into the next life, and wept for a while before returning to the palace.

I am sorry for your lost. Where I come from death is just another part of life for we fight to protect our beloved country.

Duchess Miracle smiled sadly at the stranger. "Ah, y-you must b-b-be a new member. Welcome." Her smile faltered, and she began weeping again.

Captain Le walked up to her and kneel down. He took out a clean white cloth out of his tunic and wipe her tears.

"It is alright", he said lovingly.

Captain Le stood up and helped her up to her feet. He took a step back and said:

"Sorry I haven't properly introduced myself." He took a bow. " I am Captain Le. I came from a land distant from here."

"Ah. Hahaha. You didn't have to bow. Anyways, nice to meet you!" Duchess Miracle smiled at Captain Le. "Ah! I have to get back! Well, see ya!" She runs off.

As Captain Le watched her run-off he thought to himself "she's beautiful". Then as Captain Le turns around to the door he falls on all fours and coughs blood into his hand. Droplets of blood fall on the floor as Captain Le stands up and limps for the door. He walks outside, got on his horse, and rode back to Mithros Temple.

Duchess Miracle stopped dead in her tracks a foot away from the door to her infirmary. Was Captain Le hurt and sick, or was that just my imagination...?... She put the thought to the side of her mind for now, for she had people to treat.

A few days past by as Captain Le returns to the Infirmary. "Hmm. Miracle isn't here today. I guess I'll leave these here." As Captain Le for the door he leaves a bundle of a variety of beautiful flowers in a vase on top of her desk. He also leaves a note saying:

"Would you like to meet me
at Mithos Temple tonight when
you are free? I'll be waiting at
the temple.

- Captain Le"

And he leaves for Mithos Temple.

Duchess Miracle found a lovely bunch of flowers on her desk. She leaned down and sniffed them. They were sweet smelling. Finding the note, she read it. Giggling, she decided she would go to the Temple. Might as well.
